Peoples has given over $200,000 in scholarships to students throughout East Texas. Just as we invest in the advancement of our services, Peoples invests in the future of our communities. We are proud to offer 3 different scholarships to students within our service area.
Education Scholarship Opportunities
Deadline: March 27, 2024
Peoples is proud to offer up to 20 scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 to graduating high school seniors throughout our service areas. This scholarship is available to graduating High School Seniors whose parents or legal guardians subscribe to Peoples telecommunications services.
High School seniors and non-traditional graduating students are encouraged to apply. (Non-traditional students include those students attending private, parochial, or home school.)
Awards (Status determined by service address.):
- Cooperative Member: Up to 15 – $2,000
- Non-Cooperative Subscriber: Up to 5 – $1,000

Telecommunications Scholarship Fund
Deadline: March 27, 2024
The Telecommunications Scholarship is specific to students that plan to major in Telecommunications. This is an opportunity to not only invest in our community but the future of our industry. This is a $2,000 scholarship. The applicant must be a graduating senior attending school within Peoples’ service area.

FRS Scholarship Program
Deadline: February 16, 2024
As an NTCA member company, Peoples is proud to partner with the Foundation for Rural Service to offer a $2,500 scholarship opportunity to graduating high school seniors within our landline service area. The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) awards 30 one-time $2,500 scholarships to students from rural America for their first year of college, university, or vocational-technical school. An NTCA member company sponsors each student. FRS funds $2,000 of each scholarship, and the sponsoring company (Peoples) awards the remaining $500. The FRS College Scholarship Program seeks to encourage students to return to their rural communities upon completing their education. This scholarship is available to Peoples Telephone cooperative members.
